But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why especially since I should have been the one who died. . .'
Almost a 5 but since the book had a couple things that annoyed me a little I had to drop it down. One thing that got me was stuff repeating itself. Some things just need to be said once and hopefully it will stick (but if not, the pages do not get erased after you read them, you can go back) so that being said there is no need to make the reader have to keep reading it over and over. Anyway I did enjoy the book, it was a little slow at first and with Gwen being an outcast she doesn't have any friends to really talk to. Gwen goes to Mythos Academy an academy school which from the outside looks like any other school except the kids that go to this school have special abilities in killing and have been training their whole lives to be warriors...all except Gwen who feels like she doesn't really belong at the school. When a murder happens and Gwen discovers the murder Gwen takes it upon herself to do some searching with her gift that she has. All she has to do is touch something and Gwen will get flashes/images even emotions from the object. Gwen did end up making some friends through the story and I loved Gwen and Daphne's growing friendship...hilarious and unexpected. In the ending of this book Gwen is told that she is to take extra lessons in fighting, and the instructor ends up being her new love interest... Logan Quinn. So I find myself waiting to read the next book.
